Painting colorful Easter eggs at home with Au Pair Emilie

The Easter holidays are upon us! You might be taking the opportunity to return home for the Easter break to spend some time with your families at home. But if you are staying here in the UK then read on!

Easter is fabulous for all ages. For children, there are so many activities they can do to prepare for Easter; and who doesn’t look forward to the big day itself – Easter Sunday – with its chocolate eggs!! For families it is a time when parents benefit from 4 days off work; as Good Friday and Easter Monday are both official bank holidays in the UK. Families and Au Pairs can make the most of the time off, by visiting a myriad of attractions throughout the country, furthermore by taking part in Easter events and Easter related activities.

Here are a few events and activities we at Heavenly Headquarters would like to share with you, to start you on your way to enjoying a fabulous Easter 2019 in England!

Easter Activities:

Easter egg painting and colouring. You can cook eggs which can be eaten on or after Easter Sunday – if you can bear to break your decorated masterpieces! See here for easy steps to make colourful Easter eggs to be either hidden in the garden (playing the Easter Bunny!) or used as impressive decorations.

Or to make fabulous salt dough Easter egg decorations:

What exactly is Easter all about?

Easter is of course a religious, Christian event, not only a cultural one, here in the UK and it is important to explain to children for their own education what Easter is about. Here is a helpful resource from the BBC for Children.

There are so many exciting events taking place throughout the country over the Easter break, a quick google search will find thing near you, but we’ve collected a few resources here for you to check out. You may wish to do things together with your host family’s children, or if you have time off choose activities just for you and your friends.
