DBS Police Checks

Home Office - Disclosure and Barring Service for Enhanced DBS police checks

You can apply for a Enhanced DBS Police Check through Heavenly for just £70+vat (£84)

Once the DBS application has been submitted it, usually only takes a week or two until you receive your DBS certificate in the post. The British DBS was formerly known as a CRB check, and is the equivalent of a police check or criminal background check in other countries.

We accept payment via PayPal, debit or credit card. However, before you make a payment, check with us first that you have the correct original documents. The list below shows the documents that can be accepted to prove your identity when using the checking service.

Please note, to work with children you will need to apply for an Enhanced DBS. Unfortunately, a standard DBS or Basic Disclosure from Scotland is not enough. Get in touch to find out more!

DBS update Service

To register for the DBS Update Service, please click here.

It costs just £13 per year and keeps your DBS certificate up to date online AND it allows employers/agencies to check candidates’ certificates online. You will have 19 days from the day of issue to sign up for this service. Otherwise, we recommend that candidates sign up using their DBS reference number while the DBS is in progress to ensure they do not miss the deadline.

What do I need to apply for a DBS or UK police check?

You will need at least 3 documents from those listed below (originals only!). These will help you to prove your identity when applying for a DBS and they will then need to be verified before you send us a copy. We recommend using the post office Document Certification Service, which is conveniently available UK wide. Alternatively, check here to see what other options you may have, including for those applicants who may be outside of the UK while applying.

  • 1 Document from Group 1 and 2 Documents from Group 2 (total of 3 documents).
